CANADA, is pleased to announce a new, occasional, eccentric poetry series called Pleasure and Gold. This series is conceived as a series of readings that extend the literal spaces of an enlarged, improvised community that the gallery has always wanted to be.
The first reading night is Friday December 5, 2025, at 6:30. Live readings will feature Kevin Davies, Miles Champion, and Stacy Szymaszek, three poets that persist in the human pattern of language rescued from despair. Come join us on our first night in a funny, hurt, defiant shared hallucination of being.
Kevin Davies’s books include FPO, The Golden Age of Paraphernalia, and Comp., all from Edge Books. Forthcoming: Transfer Portal (Edge, 2026), Three Yards and a Cloud of Ducks (Roof, 2027), and Salacious Dossier (Talonbooks, 2028). Recent interviews have appeared in Tripwire and Jacket2. He lives in Queens, New York.
Miles Champion’s books include A Full Cone and, with Trevor Winkfield, How I Became a Painter. He has edited books by Ted Greenwald, Steve Malmude, and Tom Raworth, among others. He lives in Brooklyn.
Stacy Szymaszek is the author of 8 books of poetry, most recently, Essay (Krupskaya). She has two titles forthcoming in 2026: Starving Is the Energy (Antiphony) and About the House (Rescue). She is in a Masters program in Anthrozoology studying the relationship between humans and animals with a focus on livestock welfare and farming.
